Job Search Workshop Facilitator

Job Duration: 7 month position with the possibility of renewal

Job Term: Contract

Job Description:
-Research and compile labour market and job search information relevant to internationally-trained professionals and trades people
-Schedule, prepare, update and facilitate workshops and curriculum according to the goals of the program and clients' needs utilizing a variety of multimedia tools
-Interview and intake applicants, perform needs assessment and client orientation to programs and services
-Prepare promotional materials, including flyers, brochures, etc. for the purpose of program promotion
-Provide individual coaching, training and direct support and assistance to JSW participants in the areas of resume writing, interview preparation, job search strategies and other employment/career related topics, according to clients' needs
-Conduct appropriate and regular follow-up activities with program participants, document feedback in clients' files and report them monthly, as per Reporting Guidelines
-Research employment and educational support programs relevant to client needs at area community agencies and schools in order to make appropriate external referrals, and document results in clients' files
-Maintain files and documentation (in database and ICAMS) according to internal policies/guidelines and funders' requirements
-Submit professional, accurate and detailed monthly reports


Qualifications:
-Post secondary education preferably in Adult Education, Human Resources, Social Services, Employment/Career Counselling or combination of education and relevant work experience
-Thorough knowledge of all facets of job search and career development including and understanding of current labour market trends and resources, training programs and employment resource centers
-Experience in public speaking and working with private, public and non-for profit sector
-Excellent facilitation, organizational and time management skills
-Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Ability to problem solve, work independently and as part of a team
-Demonstrated experience and knowledge working with diverse groups
-Experience in the delivery of pre-employment workshops
-Knowledge of Ms Office, Internet/E-mail, Excel
-Knowledge of local resources, programs that assist with employment goals and ability to appropriately refer
-Experience working with the client group: (internationally-educated professionals and trades people, employers, employment-service providers)


Salary: $ 34,000 to $ 36,000 per year pro-rated (depending on experience) + benefits
