| Where: |
The 215 Centre for Social Innovation , 215 Spadina Avenue, Suite 120 , Toronto , Ontario |
There is a growing interest among non-profit community organizations to understand social enterprise as a means of supporting their charitable missions and generating revenue. A Commitment to Training and Employment for Women (ACTEW) and The 215 Centre for Social Innovation (CSI) are pleased to offer an exploratory information session for community agencies interested in the possibility of social enterprise.
ACTEW and the CSI are exploring the possibility of offering a series of workshops related to social enterprise and so we would like to use this session to gauge interest in the topic and determine what the specific information needs that agencies have, and the range of capacity-building activities that could be developed to meet these needs.
Session Objectives:
-introduce key concepts of social enterprise
-discuss the factors an organization should take into account if they are thinking about adding social enterprise as a component of their work
-identify information and knowledge needs of organizations interested in further exploration by participating in capacity building activities
-assess demand for an initial series of capacity building sessions
-explore possible format, timing and structure of capacity building sessions
-networking amongst interested organizations!!!
The session is open to any non-profit interested in the topic and it is being promoted through the ACTEW and CSI networks. To cover refreshment costs we are requesting participants consider a $10 donation.
Please RSVP to Carol van den Kerkhof, ACTEW’s Office Corodinator, at carol@actew.org or 416-599-3590 by Tuesday, July 12th.
