CAPLA Conference October 15-18,2006

When: 15-Oct-06 to 18-Oct-06
Where: ., Fredericton, New Brunswick

Don’t miss the Sixth International Forum on Prior Learning Assessment (PLAR) and Qualification Recognition (QR)

Recognizing Learning: Recognizing Skills presented by the Canadian Association for Prior Learning and Assessment (CAPLA) in partnership with Human Resources and Social Development Canada is scheduled for October 15-18, 2006 in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

Detailed Descriptions of over 70 workshops can be found on the web site at www.capla.ca, along with registration information and additional conference details.  The early bird registration deadline is Sept 18.  See the attached highlights to see the pre-conference program, super sessions and guest speakers!

The field of practice is constantly evolving, as recognition and assessment systems for workplace competencies and credentials take on greater importance. The conference will provide the opportunity to explore innovative ideas and practical applications for a sustainable adult learning, recognition and assessment culture in Canada.

Our goals this year focus on partnerships, outcomes and transferability. The five themes are prior learning assessment and qualification recognition - past, present and future; integrating systems; assessment tools; industry applications and competence; and culture.  These themes will be explored through an exciting array of plenary speakers, workshop presenters and networking sessions.

Come to Fredericton this fall to see the colours, to be rejuvenated by new ideas and to network with others from around the world.  We are excited about the program and know it will stimulate your thinking and enhance your practice.  See you in October!
